You can code, but you cannot hide

DOUBTS have arisen over lines of code an anonymous submitter sent to the Linux kernel mailing list on August 6th, here. The programmer is hiding behind a pseudonym, Shem Multinymous. Fellow Kernel programmers are divided over accepting the code or not.

Does the rising amount spent on IT maintenance come at the expense of innovation?

As IT budgets are increasingly spent on maintenance of existing systems, spending earmarked for new projects and innovative technologies is getting squeezed. If the current trends persist, the rate of innovation could slow markedly over the next ten years.
